Every leader has impact. The real question is whether it’s intentional.
In today’s workplace, influence doesn’t come from job titles alone. It comes from behaviour, especially in everyday moments that feel small at the time.
How you enter a room. How you respond under pressure. How well you really listen. How you handle disagreement.
These moments don’t feel like “leadership” in the grand sense. But to your team, they’re everything.
I often work with leaders who care deeply about doing a good job, yet underestimate how visible their behaviour really is.
Silence can be interpreted as disapproval. Urgency can feel like impatience. A focus on results can be read as a lack of care.
None of it is deliberate. But all of it has impact.
The leaders who build strong trust understand something powerful:
Influence isn’t about control. It’s about consistency.
Consistency between:
What you say and what you do
What you expect and what you tolerate
How you show up on good days and difficult ones
This is where credibility is built. This is where trust grows. This is where real leadership influence lives.
Not in grand speeches. But in everyday leadership moments done well.
If you lead people, start noticing the small things. Because your team already is.
